Important

You can gain weight, you can even maintain it...but that doesn't mean you are okay. That doesn't mean your view of yourself has changed. It doesn't mean you hate yourself less, in fact you might hate yourself more. Because it's a mental issue. Our minds are far more damaged than out bodies could ever be..

  1. I completely 100% agree with this. It is something that frustrates me beyond words that so many people (and many who, quite frankly, should know better) think that weight gain = recovery. I will hate myself whatever weight I am, dangerously low or otherwise. It is a big barrier to recovery, because my ED is the only way to be able to show people that I am not 'ok'.
